In a decisive final ballot, far-right politician José Antonio Kast has secured the presidential office in Chile.
A Clear-Cut Victory
With more than 99% of polling stations reporting, Kast won 58.17% of the votes, beating leftist former minister Jeannette Jara, who obtained 41.83%.
This marks Kast's third attempt at the presidency, having previously been lost by the incumbent president, Gabriel Boric, in the 2021 runoff.
