The Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement across the community. Starting with the gradual unveiling of newcomers before the title's release, to trainers forming strong views on the entire roster of new Megas, there's plenty for fans to look forward to.
Given numerous of the Mega Evolutions boasting distinctive appearances that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a mix of intuition, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, known for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more similar to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of either and enjoy a strong partner; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Super Heracross
Similar to a loyal Bull, the steadfast Heracross, both in its regular and Mega form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a strong opinion – will stand up for their side to the end. What about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Many past Pokédex entries note their craving for sweet tree sap and how it uses its appendage to hoard it everything, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. It's impossible to convince me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, providing an endless fountain of chatter to those who wants to hear. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their tales. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its ability to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which seems very like a socially-savvy Gemini.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is widely regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a intense symbol famous for often getting absorbed in their emotions. According to the official info, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge quantity of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Cancer emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to create a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Cancer is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the stars? Aside from the reality that it would be far too obvious, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or horrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the same energy a Lion brings to the table. Starmie is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Leo to be putting on a show, even if for aliens.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Super Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The sign famous for being endearingly judgmental is clearly mirrored throughout this creature's whole evolutionary chain, from a always surprised expression like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the symbol a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a plan.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the sensors on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their pulse. Always empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Libras who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry more about others.
The Scorpion – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly tragic origin: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through pure hatred and swore retribution on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
The Archer – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a performance. Being a Sagittarius personally, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The showiest and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to display its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer match I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the ability to predict disasters in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re correct. Interestingly, similar to a visionary Super Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the absolute initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Water Bearer is arguably the non-flame placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being chaotic partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire category fits seamlessly with this, and the Super Form's overall intimidating aura is also very Water Bearer. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and transforms it into strength.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
