Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at Age 60.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA recently having undergone cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a message.
They added that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
