A Alarm

After gaining access to the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Charges
Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held without bail.
Correcting the Record
The person close to the family also disputed several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
The source also disputed circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement applies to reports of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a party hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that suggestions of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.
