New information has come to light regarding the shocking demises of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles property on Sunday.

A source indicates referencing a family associate, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Afterward, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently being held without bail.

Correcting the Record

The person close to the family also disputed several earlier details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.

The source also disputed circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. The source claimed the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the family home. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
