The newest Far Cry game that audiences explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for embracing action and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while presenting gripping, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two producers whose creations have represented all of those qualities.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' style by introducing a different setting and ensemble in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will present this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the creator.

A schedule for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
