Ex- BBC Specialists Participate in MPs' Inquiry Following Claims of Bias in Disclosed Memo
We start with inquiries from Conservative lawmaker the committee chair, that leads the group.
She initiates by offering context to the unauthorized memorandum written by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.
"I don't want the BBC slanting this way or that way, My only wish is for it neutral, impartial and just," he says.
In response to a query whether he believes the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, he responds: "No, I do not. It is important to note, numerous aspects the BBC creates is exceptional - both documentary and fictional content."
Nevertheless, he states: "There remains substantial tasks that needs to be done at the BBC."
The second previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, states she takes the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it maintains a "ongoing system and active debate" across dynamic and complex topics.
"Was the BBC willing to have a thorough discussion and debate and act accordingly?" she reflects. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
