Arsenal's goalkeeper Highlights Team's Strength as Key to Multiple Trophy Challenge

David Raya has stated that intense competition for starting positions is propelling Arsenal's outstanding performance, with the goalkeeper believing that the team's roster under Mikel Arteta is so incredible that they can compete for multiple honors throughout the campaign.

Stunning Wins Showcase The Gunners' Strength

The North London club's recent comprehensive win over Atlético Madrid marked their six consecutive wins and tenth triumph in 12 matches. Having let in just three goals—a record low at this stage in the team's legacy—they have established a narrow advantage at the top of the table and a perfect record in the Champions League after three outings.

Squad Changes and Versatility Crucial to Success

Raya has featured in almost all matches, aside from one domestic cup fixture, but Arteta has consistently rotated the lineup following significant summer investment on new signings. When asked about chasing multiple trophies, he said, "Yes, I think so. The depth is incredible. We have many players who can perform in two, three, or four positions."

Like in the Atlético match, a teammate came on as a forward and can also play as a central midfielder or No 10. That versatility is available to the manager, and it's being utilized to benefit the team. Things appear very, very good, and that depth is crucial for us.

Rivalry Drives Standards

Raya added, "That gives you an extra level in training and games because if you slack off, your place is at risk in a fraction of a second. It creates healthy competitiveness in sessions and during matches, which is vitally significant, and the whole squad accepts it."

Strong Defense a Collective Effort

Arsenal have let in just a single goal from open play so far, and Raya has faced only one shot on target in their last three wins against Atlético, Fulham, and West Ham.

"It's a collective effort from the striker to the goalkeeper," he said. "Each player is committed, no one wants to concede, and we aim to intercept the ball before it reaches the midfield. If we intercept, we can launch a quick counter. This is essential for the entire team to understand that way, and we're not allowing many chances, which is ideal."
